Breitling, the Swiss manufacturer of technically-oriented watches, was established in 1884. The Cosmonaute was brought to life after commander Scott Carpenter, one of the original astronauts in the Mercury Space Program, approached the company with an idea of incorporating 24-hour dial instead of normal 12-hour. Scott Carpenter wore his Cosmonaute in 1962 on space flight Aurora 7, which orbited the Earth three times. This self-winding automatic wristwatch comes with a certified chronometer movement, a 42-hour power reserve and sapphire crystal glass. The white Arabic dial sets the stage to three sub dials with chronograph functionalities and is accented with a bi-directional rotating bezel.
